(i know, i suck at titles. hehe.)

i've been missing a lot lately. now, i'm missing MUSIC. not that i haven't been listening to anything lately; on the contrary, music on my TP is one of the things that gets me through the day. (i can't believe i just used "TP" in a sentence.) i miss live music. i miss concerts. i miss jams. i miss being with musically-inclined people. i miss just "chillin'" to music of whatever genre. and i want a new CD. all this downloadable music (courtesy of LimeWire) takes away the pleasure-- and the achievement-- of buying a CD. i have A LOT of CDs. i remember being in grade school and buying my first original CD: the Eraserheads' Aloha Milkyway. Not their best album, but definitely my happiest buy. (no, wait. i was happiest when i bought my Incubus Live On Red Rocks DVD. but that's a different story.) and i miss the times when i used to have crushes on vocalists. there was s., o., y., r., b., and others whose names i can't even remember. (as usual. hehe.)

----------

watched Kubrador last saturday. i was actually speechless-- in a good way. it was a little difficult to watch the film at first because of the camera movements and the subtitles, but you get used to it. it seemed like a documentary of a bet collector's life, but it isn't. it's a take on life: the life of a mother who does what she can to take care of her family. it's heartfelt, but not in a sappy way. i think it's as real as it can get.

i remember talking to ate Susan about jueteng. i remember her explaining to me how it works: na nagbobolahan sila sa ilalim ng puno ng saging para hindi mahuli ng kalaban, na pwede kang tumaya ng kahit limang piso, na pwede mong hatiiin yung taya mo, at kung gaano kalaki ang pwedeng abutin ng kikitain mo kapag tumama ka.

(i miss ate Susan, ate Marie and Kenneth.)
