i'm not really into mainstream comedy films, but i am a fan of Steve Carell, so i watched Evan Almighty yesterday in HBO. it's filed under comedy, but you don't really laugh for most of the film. the few funny parts are the witty remarks of Evan (Steve Carell) and his assistants. anyway, it's not that bad: the movie may fail as a comedy but it is a feel-good family movie.
on a side note, i love this quote because it does make a lot of sense and when you think about it, it's actually true:
on a side note, i love this quote because it does make a lot of sense and when you think about it, it's actually true:
Let me ask you something. If someone prays for patience, you think God gives them patience? Or does he give them the opportunity to be patient? If he prayed for courage, does God give him courage, or does he give him opportunities to be courageous? If someone prayed for the family to be closer, do you think God zaps them with warm fuzzy feelings, or does he give them opportunities to love each other?- God (Morgan Freeman)
