a new week, finally.
Filed under: la familia, life's like that, my so-called lovelife, unplanned downtime
last week was the most emotionally fucked up week in my life. out of the seven days of the week, i cried five. thank god it's over.
but it's also good to take note of past things. we live, we learn, and we never give up.
----------
my dad was diagnosed with colon cancer almost a month ago. last friday he underwent sugery to remove the affected part of his colon and part of his liver. he's out of the ICU and back in his room, but he'll still need chemotherapy.
needless to say, it was difficult seeing my father that way. i just hope he gets better and recovers quickly.
thank you for the prayers.
----------
relationship? commitment? love?
ano nga ulit yung mga yun?
hay.
makapagbasa nga ulit ng philo at theo.
----------
if people keep on telling you to do one thing--because they think/ believe that it's the best for you--but you're not sure, would you follow their advise anyway just to appease them?
----------
scary thought: someone completely knowing you.
scarier: that someone gone.
but it's also good to take note of past things. we live, we learn, and we never give up.

But we'll get by. Don't we always?

I don't think it's ever truly fair to anyone if you do something ONLY (or even mostly) to appease people. If it turns bad, there'll be blame. If it turns out good, I think there will always be the possibility of regressing because it "wasn't your idea" in the first place.
You don't do things for anyone, even when you're ready. I don't think anyone will ever be "ready", just like people aren't ever fully ready to grow up or get married or whatever. We're as ready as we'll ever be. I think... you do things when you realize that it's good for you in the long run. More importantly, you do it when you feel strong enough to try to be 'ready'.

Nah, no one can know you completely. Sabi nga sa Theology, diba? We're on a neverending search for self discovery. But anyway, if someone can know you completely, then someone else will come along who might know you completely (or in time will take the effort to do so). I know this isn't romantic, but hey! Look at me. I'm sure I know more about you know than when we just met. Time lang yan, time :)
- You know who!
