made my day. a quote: About Relationships- Theres this thing called masturbation. all of the pleasure, none of the drama. wehehehehe.

anyway, today the ateneo blue booters once more proved that they are UNDEFEATABLE. the final score was 4-1, thanks to jp merida, sam wilson, and gerard cancio, who made 2 consecutive goals!

and yes, you read it correctly. 4-1. someone finally got past our goalie, jerwin belina. but hey, what's 1 goal compared to 4, right? :)

i can't wait for sunday!!!!! that'll be the last game though (hehe, yes, i am assuming), and i'm sort of disappointed though, because i won't be able to take any more sports pics for a while. :(

from atenista.net's jkad:

Ateneo demolished UST 4-1 behind a relentless attack from the opening whistle. For a while though, it looked like the soccer gods were conspiring against us. In the first 5 minutes, Cancio had a golden opportunity to put Ateneo ahead when he walloped a half volley from point-blank range. UST's keeper however was able to deflect it a bit towards the sidepost. After that, Ateneo kept pushing forward yet uncharacteristic indecision in the penalty area led to weak attempts at goal that were easily corralled by the keeper. It looked like the first half would end in a scoreless draw until deep into injury time, Roger Lastimado won a corner for Ateneo. Roger took it himself and made a bullseye cross to JP Merida who headed in the goal over the keeper's hands and barely under the crossbar. Ateneo crowd goes wild, the sweep is alive.

THe next two goals offered us a glimpse of our future when Cancio scored 2 goals from out of nowhere in true goal poaching tradition ala Ronaldo. The fourth goal came very near the end when crowd favorite Sam Wilson knocked in a rebound off a Gimarino(?) shot. One hiccup was the first goal allowed by Ateneo in the whole tournament, again off a dead ball situation. During its 3 year championship run, Ateneo has been at its most vulnerable during free kicks near the goal. We have to be more careful about useless fouls in our half of the field in our championship game on Sunday against La Salle.

See you guys on Sunday, let's cheer our boys on in what could potentially be the last game of the UAAP careers of Ingles, Lastimado, Gimarino, Merida, Maranon, Mortillero and Calinawagan. One Big Fight.

A testament to how balanced the team is, 7 different Eagles have scored in this tournament.

Lastimado (5)
Ingles (3)
Cancio (3)
Merida (2)
Ozaeta (2)
Tongson, G (1)
Maranon (1)
