back in urbanity
just got back last night from leyte. :) pictures in my multiply and deviantart sites.
when i was there, it seemed as if nothing mattered; work and the break-up were far from my mind. but when i got back, it was as if thoughts and feelings came flooding into my head again. i would love to Go Back.
(but yes, it's nice to have my comfy bed, clean sheets and bathroom again. the weather there's great, but the accommodations are.. not that appealing. haha.)
lots of thoughts in my head:

her that i didn't know the song. hay. but that song was stuck in my head for the duration of the trip.

lots of thoughts in my head:
- the philippines is full of undiscovered beautiful places. people are surprised (and one even said that i was a loser) when they find out that i have never been to bora. so what? and i quote some who have been to bora, people go there to be seen, not to relax. i want to get away from it all, so i don't go to bora. (and yes, the budget doesn't fit as well.) but anyway, why go to bora's populated white sands when i can go here for half the price...
- and with this, i realized that i want to see more of the philippines. sure, i still want to go to europe for art, japan for culture and the rest of the world for knowledge, but while i'm figuring out how to grab some cash, i would love to see my country first. when you're in manila, you think that there's nothing else to see in the country. on the contrary, more interesting places are to be found-- and westerners have realized this first before us "natives." so what's the next island on the list? wait, gotta make that list first :p
- i apparently have a talent for singing according to my relatives. haha. ate alma put on this song for me to sing:
Don't cry out loud"para sa 'yo yan, lis" she told me TWICE. i don't really know why she said that. i just told
Just keep it inside, learn how to hide your feelings
Fly high and proud
And if you should fall, remember you almost had it all

- speaking of relatives, i haven't been around THAT many for as long as i can remember. it was nice meeting all of them. :)
- being in the province made me see how much my mom's life had, for lack of a better term, improved, and i'm now more grateful for the things i usually take for granted: a comfy bed, clean water, cable TV, computers and internet, light, electric fans, air conditioning and clothes. mom tells us to sort out our clothes and stuff so we can donate them or send them to the province. i never understood what they would want with my old pair of shorts or worn-out rubber shoes, but seeing them with... less than what i have, i feel really fortunate and eager to donate (wow, that actually rhymes).
- life is indeed too short to be miserable. :)
